Title: Physics, Bachelor of Education Science
Institution: University of Nairobi, Kenya

Level:

Degree, continuing education.

Description:
Physics will be offered as one subject for the B.Ed. degree either as a minor subject or a major subject. The course has been developed with a basic core of ten units which will be studied by all students offering physics. Minor students will take the ten core units only i.e. EPH101, 102, 103, 201, 202, 203, 302, 304, 402 and 403.

Physics major students will take the core and ten further units, i.e. all the units in the first, second, third, fourth and fifth year of study plus any two units in the sixth year which must include a project. The choice of units in the sixth year of study must be approved by the Dean of the Faculty in consultation with the Chairman of Department.

The course has been outlined in six parts to fit the minimum duration of six years, and to ensure that the course develops in a progressive and systematic way. Thus later units, whether core units, required units, or electives, will be studied only after the completion of necessary foundation work. This structure provides for development both in depth and breadth and also an important element of choice for majors.
